Had 7 Ks through first 3 IP, still at 7 a couple outs later. Great start

Says that over his last 13 starts, 68.2 IP, he has 77 Ks, an ERA of 2.10, and a WHIP of 1.024.

A bit more -  the 13 starts go back to 5/22.  Since that time, his K/9 is 10.09, BB/9 3.28, so a K/BB of 3.  Hitters are .187. FIP is also sub-3, at 2.93.

An interesting thing from the breakdown of his contact on FG.  Last year, even at AAA, he generated a lot of pop ups. Pop ups are down for the season, from 30-35% to 20%.  I can't see a split on that to see if he's back to getting pop-ups.  The other thing that's helped him a lot this year but which may not stick is he's suppressing homers (3.2% of flies).

Biggest thing about the last 13 might be the reasonable BB rate.  Command is supposed to be his weakness, not stuff.

Someplace, I read that the Rochester pitching coach is working on his change-up. That's considered the last pitch he needs to perfect.

He's really rallied this season. Good work. Wish we'd see him for a couple starts in Washington.

Only concern I still have is efficiency. With a few notable exceptions he seems to generally be done by the 5th inning. Would be nice to see some deeper starts.

great to see you post.  7 years!  Welcome back.

Let's see, we've lost Harper, developed the next Ted Williams, won a world series, Max won a couple of Cy Youngs, and Strasburg had a healthy season :)

Hehe I've migrated over to Reddit for the most part but ever since The Trade I've been itching for deeper discussions than you get on the Nats subreddit, especially regarding prospects.

At the suggestion of Kevrock, I don't think we'll lock ftp until a guy loses prospect status, but further posts will be moved to the main board. That way, you can still copy posts.

Good luck Cade!

Will lock after start #2 assuming he's not putting up a Corbin-like performance.

Might need to leave this thread open a bit longer.
