Beyond the NBA, NHL, NFL, and MLB.

The Professional Lacrosse League will be going straight to a tournament for all 7 teams starting 7/25, with a 1 week, 4 game round seeding round then 7 team single elimination.  Testing at home, then before  the tournament, then in tournamet.  20 televised games.

Does Lacrosse normally function in a large stadium full of spectators ?

Yes. Although the pro leagues don’t draw that many fans. I believe the DC team plays in Navy’s stadium?

AEW returned to a live show last night with some friends and family in the audience rather than keeping the arena empty.

PLL is a different set up.  there are teams, but they travel to different cities and no team has a home town.  The season would have a stop in LA, Bal, Philly, Bos, DC, other good markets for lacrosse, and each team would play a couple of games over a weekend.  Last year was the first.  They sold the idea to NBC so they have a better TV deal than the old outdoor league.  Better players too.  It was put together by Paul Rabil, who is a player who had gotten wealthy off of his training videos.  So, essentially, this compresses the season into 10 days or so in one location that's convenient for NBC, and is in a slack period where maybe just baseball is the competition.

The National Lacrosse League (ex-Major Indoor Lacrosse League)? That one is still going (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Lacrosse_League).

That one plays indoors. There was another outdoor league also. Not sure the name.

Not huge draws, but the Spirit have sold out Audi when they played there

https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/giro-ditalia-paris-roubaix-and-vuelta-a-espana-clash-creates-super-sunday-of-racing/

Cycling has rescheduled many of its races.  Arguably, after the Tour de France, the next 3 biggest races are the one-day Paris-Roubaix "monument" and the two other mulit-week grand tours, the Giro d'Italia and the Vuleta a Espana.  In normal years, Paris-Roubaix is in March, often on Easter, the Giro is in May, the Tour in July, and the Vuelta is in late August / September.  This year, the Tour has been rescheduled to September. The Giro starts after that in October and will overlap with the start of the Vuelta, which runs into November.  The way the schedule now works, both the Giro and the Vuelta will race on Sunday 10/25, along with Paris-Roubaix.

At least they aren’t making Roubaix a summer race

Cool. It’s not as if cobblestones get slick or anything.

June 1.  Not clear whether they will use neutral venues or regular venues with no fans.   The idea behind neutral venues is to avoid crowds outside stadiums.  Teams near the relegation zone object to neutral venues.

Youth sports, but a big soccer tournament that was supposed to be in April in Richmond has been set for July, looks like things are going to be pushed back to normal

ugh.  I can't wait to see another event at Audi.  After attending an XFL game there I fell in love with the place.

So they already cancelled Bristol, Charlotte, and Darlington in May?
