Glad we still have this one open. It could all fall apart any minute.

Yes, the people rooting for the season to collapse due to their political/personal beliefs look foolish now.

Baseball did it. Good for the players and the coaching staffs. And thanks for providing us with some entertainment the last couple months.

This isn't a trial balloon. This is the first part of an easier let down. They'll come back and say, sorry, I mean we tried, but the logistics of this just don't work out. We're thinking of trying [insert another idea here].

A couple weeks or a month later, sorry that won't work. We might try [insert idea here].

Month later, just no way to pull this off, season is canceled.

A's and Rays in the ALCS would be something.

I don’t think people were rooting against it. However we had the Marlins and Cards make the playoffs after their players violated the protocols. Screwed up other team schedules and yet they paid no penalty for it. They should have forfeited those games.

So you’re assuming Dusty will blow another one.

I was rooting against it. I still think a 60 game season was dumb. I think it was dumb that the Cards and Marlins didn't get penalized for breaking rules.

But mostly I hate it because it deprived the Nats of their victory lap.

i'm hoping blowing a 7-4 lead is the start of something. :)

100% we had people on this board rooting for the season to collapse because it would have complimented their politics.

MLB isn't going to play only 60 games. July 4 is the latest they can start and have any credibility. Beyond that, and there's no point.

This seems like the pot calling the kettle black, (or hatching a plot blacker than the kettle calling the pot?)

The most vocal person on here about it was VaRK. And it will be news to him that he's a liberal. I think most people against it thought it was dumb to try to stage this in a pandemic, especially after the first two weeks. You can have that view and not have it be political.

I wouldn’t root against it because that meant more people sick.  Plus I ran out of things to watch on Netflix.

Go back and look through this thread, Slate was pretty vocal in arguing that trying to run a season was a bad idea and that it would ultimately fail.  Does that count as "rooting" for the season to fail? To be fair, that's a bit of a reach, but I don't recall anyone doing that.

What you mean is you ran out of good stuff to watch. There's plenty on Netflix. Most of it is trash

Exactly. Everyone gets painted as political nowadays based on their views on the virus.  Unless   VARK went over to the deep state?

The grandkids are away for a few days. So we have the house to ourselves. Tried to watch Hamilton last night. Gave up on it after about fifteen minutes.

After the initial shock of seeing an all black founding fathers cast it grew on me.  I liked it.  I'll probably watch it again. :mg:

I think it’s the music.  Not my taste.

Rap isn't my thing either but like I said, it grew on me and I liked it overall. Not enough to pay a $1k for a ticket on Broadway but on Disney, yeah.

I hate rap music. Hate it with a passion.  Somehow though, the Hamilton music didn't bother me.
