I seem to recall back-to-back doubleheaders one year (?)...perhaps a mindfact.

In 2018, the Nats played a doubleheader against the Cubs and then their next two games were a doubleheader against the Phillies, but they weren't on consecutive days. The Cubs games were on September 8 and the Phillies games were on September 11. The intervening days would have seen a game against the Cubs on September 9 and a game against the Phillies on September 10, but both were rained out. (The Cubs games were at home and the Phillies games were on the road, too.) The Nats swept both doubleheaders, incidentally.

Old Hoss Radbourn pitched all four while battling a raging case of syphilis.

Given Strasburg's hand injury, I'm thinking we should get Thanos as our team doctor and simply have him replace failed body parts like he did for Nebula.

Cardinals-Pirates postponed tomorrow and the entire series is in doubt. Cards have missed 10 games already. I’m not sure how they are going to make up these games.

They won't. They will just go by winning percentages.  For better or worse.  Welcome to 2020.

In the event baseball does follow the hockey model for the postseason, MLB would likely use “at least three hubs” during the wild-card round, Passan writes. That number would drop to two for the LDS and one or two for the LCS and World Series. There is still no one area that’s considered a front-runner for playoff baseball, but with so much revenue on the line, one official told Passan, “If we want to make sure we get through October, we really need to get this right.”

With so much revenue on the line, they want to get it done as the top priority. Getting it right flew out the window long ago

This is not what fans of other NL teams meant when they prayed for God to strike down the Cardinals with pestilence.

Saturday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates is likely to be postponed after a Reds player tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell ESPN.

The fallout is unclear — will be for days. But after the Marlins and Cardinals outbreaks, avoiding another is vital.

Can we close this thread? We are a third thru the season. It's happening whether some want it to or not.

True on a superficial basis, but the matter of whether the 2020 campaign can truly be called a 'baseball season' remains debatable.

Manfred and the players union have already said it's real so there's really nothing left to debate on the matter.

Rizzo is a genius to let our tank season being a short 60-gamer rather than a full season. Get a top-3 pick without wasting away our summer.
