Not sure what the playoff percentage is for how many games go to OT. I would guess 20 percent.

I can tell you tomorrow up to a few years ago. I have that number somewhere, though it hasn’t been updated for at least three or four years.

This is a 2017 stat for regular season OT.  Guessing playoffs are even greater:

According to STATS, 23.6 percent of games since the 2005-06 season have gone to overtime, but in the last few seasons games are going beyond regulation at an even higher rate. The seasons with the most overtime games are 2013-14 (25 percent), 2014-15 (24.9) and this season (24.8 through Feb. 10).

OK - found 3 year old data for playoff games:

Rate of NHL playoffs going to the overtime

In the past 20 years, from the 1996-1997 NHL season to the 2015-2016 NHL season, there have been 1646 playoff games played(2).  Thus, the 20-year average (376/1646) is around 22.8%.

Montreal won 10 OT games in the 93 playoffs.

Awesome. Anyway the point is that in the bubble NHL games won’t all be shorter than baseball games.

There were no positive tests outside of the Marlins organization.

They threw at both of them.

Astros seem overly sensitive. I wonder why?  They should be thankful they still have the 2017 title.

I think the extra inning rule is ok.   Brings a lot more strategy into it than I would have thought.   It's probably a more legitimate tie breaker than position players pitching in the 17th inning.

I do really hate the DH as much as I thought I did.   Bench players are now almost pointless, and it's all about the home runs.

Two Phillies staff members tested positive but no players (yet). Ballpark closed until further notice.

Oof, that is horrible news. Obviously to the two people (reading now it's a Phillies coach and a staffer), as well as to the viability of the season.

This weekend's TOR @ PHI series (doubleheader Saturday, one game Sunday) has been postponed. TOR to remain in DC for the weekend. PHI's next scheduled game is now at NYY next Monday, this after not having played since this past Sunday.

There's no way every team is going to manage to play the full 60 games.

I thought the plan was to power forward after individual cases of positives, like the Royals with Hunter Dozier or Nats with Juan Soto right before opening day.

It is smart for a team to hit pause when there is an outbreak like the Marlins, but if individual cases are cancelling games then there is no point to play. People are going to get it unless you put them in pseudo confinement like the NBA has done.

I think MLB bumbling around with the Marlins situation has freaked out the rest of the league.

I'd say move Tor @ PHI here, but it is Toronto's home park so the Phillies might object.

As for the two staffers who were positive, wanna guess if they are clubhouse attendants who were working in the visiting clubhouse when Miami was in town?

If the Phillies are unable to play this weekend and Toronto stays in DC, can we just play an extended series against the Blue Jays much like how the Orioles and Yankees are playing each other as makeup? 7 game series against the Jays. We honestly got nothing else to do.

What should happen is for the Phillies to play the Nats in DC this weekend, and jiggle the schedule.  The only way they'll get through the season is with some flexibility like that.

This seems like the most logical option to me. Why have two teams who are healthy and in the same place not play for the whole weekend? This is just going to keep happening to everyone so when you get two healthy teams, play some dang games!

I can see why there would be hesitation since the Jays and Nats will have no more games against each other after today (unlike the Yankees and Orioles who can move a future matchup around), but nothing is going according to plan anyways this season.

Playing the Phillies this weekend and switching a future Phillies date around with the Marlins would work, but yeah... I don't know if you want to expose Nats players to that risk. At least until you are certain that the infection was only to those 3 staff members (including visitor locker room attendant from before).

Yeah I understand it would mess with the scheduling, but I think it is unrealistic at this point to think any team is going to play exactly the 60 games it has scheduled. Everyone should focus on just trying to get to 60 however they can while staying healthy.
