Who wouldn’t want to see that?

Enjoy the 1-0 from Bubba Trammell to Gammons, with a P-i-P of Jackie Bradley's barber giving some random dude a damn nice razor fade.

It’s pretty laughable to try to predict anything about this season, but here’s my attempt anyway:

NL West: Dodgers
NL East Nationals
NL Central: Reds
Wild Card: Braves
Wild Card: Diamondbacks

AL West: Astros
AL East: Yankees
AL Central: Twins
Wild Card: Rangers
Wild Card: White Sox

World Series: Reds defeat Yankees

Basically, my logic is that the Reds are going to benefit a lot from the universal DH and the Yankees have less time for all of their injury-prone dudes to get hurt.

Does anyone know the real skinny behind the MLB and MLBPA agreement regarding 2020 service time time?

I heard originally that players would be granted a year of service time "if there was a 2020 season."  The I heard a player would not get service time in 2020 if he sat out the "season."

Wonder if there is an ambiguity in the language as there was with the language of "as many games possible."

If I’m not mistaken, players who play get a full year’s service time regardless of how many games are played.
Players with a certified medical condition that puts them at risk for complications of COVID can sit out and will receive full service time
Players without a condition who opt out will not get service time.

well, then, pretty courageous of Joe Ross to sit out.  Leake, Desi, and Zim, and even Castillo, have all had their payoffs as FAs and have plenty of service time.  Ross, OTOH, is passing up a shot at a rotation slot, gets a year older without accruing service time, and may not get a shot at having his pay day.  He is paying the most for his convictions, IMO.  Wish him well.

Yes, he shows some balls making that choice.  Maybe a year off will work out for his arm.

That’s better than I expected. But I guess the issue is when they start play and one guy tests positive do they need to quarantine others he wa sin close contact with?  Or do they just keep testing everyone?

Pete freaking Kozma

So, based upon prior discussions...can these players now opt out for medical concerns and still get their year of service time.  Not sure these particular guys need it, but, others perhaps?

When they come down with the RONA during the season, I assume they will be paid while on the IL...which would really be the DL...or the CL to be perfectly accurate...

I doubt it.  They'll go on DL until they test negative, but at that point they are at less risk then they were before they got the virus to begin with.

Not sure?  Only the lawyers may know for sure. Wonder if Freddie was at these games?

There is a specific CL. Coronavirus List. It has no minimum or maximum time.

I’m a little confused because the Phillies put 4 on the DL the other day without naming a reason. Maybe it was just a mistake and they are really on the CL?  Perhaps not made clear for HIPPA reasons.

Yeah, this is all before playing and regular contact and proximity

Centralizing info flow through an org who’s arguably shown preferences to obscure problematic info for the purpose of optics. Reminds me of the sign stealing investigation.
