Manfred would nut himself if he got a Yankees Red Sox World Series

ESPN might collapse in on itself from the collective simultaneous orgasm of its executives.

Want some good baseball news??

I just heard from multiple sources that on June 10th,  Spring Training 2 will start. July 1st will be Opening Day and all teams will be playing at their home ballparks.

We’ll be discussing it in full on the next @TalkinBaseball_

Here is an article about it--still seems like lots to do in order to have an actual plan in place.

Boras pushes for a staged reopening.  Still, what happens the first time a player in training camp tests positive?

I would expect that half the teams would be playing away.

Interesting article regarding how some players do better than others due to deferred money and bonuses etc.

If Rendon had stayed he maybe would have ended up keeping a lot more of that contract.

more on the framework being discussed, essentially a 78-82 game season with expanded playoffs and teams only playing in their own regions to eliminate travel.

Owners voting on a revenue sharing plan today that's based on a resumption of games in July, potentially without fans:

I don’t see why the players would agree after already agreeing to a big cut

I'm not sure what choice they have.

Rosenthal just tweeted out that the owners have approved the proposal and are meeting with the union tomorrow

So, we would play Mets, Phils, Braves, Marlins, Orioles, Yankees, Rays ....  what about the Red Sox?  Jays (probably not)

Need to play to get paid.   I'm sure some compromises can be made.

I thought it included all the NL and AL East teams.  But I'm sure its fluid.

They already already agreed to halve salaries- need to generate revenue to service stadium debt- it works both ways

Most owners are better prepared to survive a year off. They don't rely on baseball to make their money.  Players do.   Just the way it is.

Lots of owners have primary businesses suffering too and really nice stadiums with large notes attached

They're rich--their debt will be worked out.  That's how the system works.

Maybe yes, maybe no- would it shock anyone if a couple of major sports franchises end up in chapter 11?The same can be said of a lot of baseball players- the mlbpa screwed up royally by agreeing to the initial compromise without any assurances- I doubt they’re in a mood to deal
