It may be early to call Doug Jones good— but yea, nfl is a crap shoot
I went on one of the Eagles blogs last night and it amazing how upset people got.  Just hard for me to get worked up about the draft.  As you said mostly a crap shoot.

I only watched a bit of the draft but they had a parade of QBs who fell in the first round, Gino Smith, Manziel, and of course, Aaron Rodgers. The last one worked out OK

Even I’m baffled by that pick.  I guess they have no faith in Wentz staying healthy.

How much longer does wentz have on his contract?

Peter King says Rogers is pissed too as the Packers traded up for a QB instead of getting him some help.

Years. He just signed his extension.

They probably plan to use Hurts as the Saints use Hill.  Goal like and short yardage situations. Still strange though.  I think putting in a 40 year old guy in the playoff game shocked them.

JMU QB and CAA offensive player of the year Ben DiNucci to the Cowboys in the 7th round.  He had been rumored to be on New England's radar.

DE and CAA defensive player of the year Ron’del Carter signs with Dallas as an UDFA,  TE Dylan Stapleton to Houston.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/04/25/new-patriots-kicker-says-hell-cover-tattoo-related-right-wing-militia-group/

Quote
Shortly after being selected Saturday, Justin Rohrwasser spoke to reporters about the tattoo, located on his left forearm and showing the symbol of the “Three Percenters.” The stated goal of that group, which denies being a militia, is to be “the last defense to protect the citizens of the United States if there ever comes a day when our government takes up arms against the American people.”

The Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center classify the Three Percenters as an anti-government extremist group. ...

Rohrwasser said the Patriots had him take “a psychological test” as part of their pre-draft process.

“They put a lot of attention to who the player is as a person,” he said, “to figure out what kind of guy they’re getting.”

I'm sure Kraft is now going to say he's a fine person.

I could have sworn that the first report said he was at a restaurant with his wife and kid(s).  Now, it's 1:00am at a bar with 2 other guys?

Yea, trying to cover his tracks.  I am sure Dougie P will be not too pleased he was out at a bar.  I am sure there was some confrontation before the punch.

I have heard it will be a percentage of the salary cap. Which frankly is the only reason this makes sense for him.

10yrs/$ 450 million per Schefter. Biggest contract in North American sports history.
