So, Mets pick up 3 (Todd Frazier, Miguel Castro, Robinson Chirinos), Phillies pick another reliever (Phelps), Marlins pick up Sterling Marte, and even the Barves pick up Tommy Millone. Does anyone think this deadline the Nats are more likely to make the post-season now than they were 24 hours ago?
Overall, it looks like more talent moved into the NL playoff chase than into the AL when you consider the Clevinger deal, the Rockies pick ups, the Cubs, the Reds too. Fair to say Rizzo is either a cocky SOB if he still has faith in this outfit, or else he ended up holding the bag on a bunch assets with expiration dates at the end of September. Maybe both.
