I don't think the ARod bid has a chance- Cohen bid 2 billion, Arod bid 1.7- even if these athletes contribute their life time earnings, they still fall short of Cohen

Yeah, but I'm glad to see more players realizing that buying into ownership is as much of a lock investment as you can make. I laugh at JEETS but it's smart as hell financially and socially it's huge to shift the power dynamics from OWGs who own a team because their dad bought it for $10 in 1940 to the players who did the actual work. The Nashville MLB bid group is mostly hedge fund bozos but they got Dave Stewart involved and I would love to see them reach out to former players from TN to buy in, too.

Jeter's stake is supposedly 4%. It's a great investment (probably- minority stakes in private businesses are odd things), but it isn't really a power shift- anytime the OWGs who actually own the team get tired of him, they can remove him as the CEO

Hey, 4% is better than 0%. Too many rich AF athletes just blow their money on stupid crap like boats and cars and houses or whatever, investing in a team is at least potentially setting up their families for safer generational wealth.

I have faith that athletes could be invested in nothing but t-bills and still find a way to lose money

Phillies intrasquad scrimmages are on tv this week at their web site.  Harper needs a haircut really bad.

I think Harper wins the MVP if we go the full season. He always starts out hot

Too bad we have MASN and they are too cheap to broadcast the intrasquad games in DC.

I wonder if it has more to do with not wanting production staff at the park to minimize potential risk.

Are they being covered on radio?

He strikes me as the guy that shills for Old Spice, but spends $200 on a hair treatment

I don’t think so. Haven’t seen any information on that.

I don’t know. The Phillies seemed to have a limited number of cameras.  Their tv guys did the broadcast.

I thought MLB network's ballpark cams are all remote?  I'm sure they could plug into that feed.

Puig to the team with Ozuna?  I see many balls dropping.

You may be correct.  Phillies won.  And lost.

I'm wondering if Puig's lack of offseason interest will result in him being more coachable on the defensive side.

For steroids or COVID? I'd assume the former since they dropped him, but who knows these days.
