Avery Weems, a LHP selected in the 6th round.  Good deal for Texas, I/M/O, as Dunning had a decent 2020 in the majors as a starter.  The Rangers get someone who can be around for several years as they build.  Didn't see much about Weems, but I think if they hit on both then this  is very good for Texas.  ChiSox upgraded for 2021, which is the old give something to get something.

White Sox trade Dunning to Texas, sign Adam Eaton to a 1-year contract.

I'm completely shocked. It's not just that Adam Eaton left Chicago in a state of open warfare with White Sox management, it's that the rift never healed. The White Sox TV announcers were talking crap about Adam Eaton on air as recently as the 2020 season. I would have sooner expected Chris Sale to return.

I guess Drake LaRoche's tryout didn't work out.

The Sox had Nomar Mazara "playing" RF last year.  That would explain a state of shock or confusion or forgiveness or desperation on the part of management.  Presumably, they signed Eaton after various traffic signals around the South Side didn't respond to offers of a contract to be an upgrade on Mazara.

Maybe they have someone who wants to do the car thing with Adam?

Hopefully he gets some kind of honor at Nats park next year, he certainly has a solid case for induction into the ring of honor.

Careful. Slate will pop in here to argue that his hits weren’t all that important. :)
