Mariners, I think.

I wish him well. He's the sort of bat-only prospect that I wonder if the Nats would have kept around if they'd known they had a DH and a 60-man player pool this year.

I forgot about him. Always put up big minors stats but didn't have much hype. Between him, Matt Skole, and Chris Marrero we've had a decade of decent first base prospects never take off.

He didn't have much hype because as a butcher of a 1B, you need to hit even more than he did. There are (well, were) only 15 DH spots. So when you OPS under .700 in AAA at 25 like he did, you vanish quickly because the margins are so thin. I'm glad he's gotten at least a cup of coffee, though.

Gio Gonzalez makes his first ever start for the Chicago White Sox tonight. Was drafted by them in 2004, was traded away by them twice (once for Jim Thome, once for Nick Swisher). Shutout against the Royals through 3.0.

was kind of hoping they would have returned him, but the extra large rosters allow him to be kept. That said, it looks like he straight out won a rotation spot.
