It's time for Relegation/Promotion to come to North American sports.  Have a 16 team 1st league and 14 team second league.   Top 4 in the playoffs, bottom 4 get relegated.   And 162 games against only the other top 16 teams with most games being meaningful.   Relegate a couple from the second league every year too.  Time to send the Marlins and Orioles to AAA where they belong!

That would acknowledge current economic and geographic reality so no way it happens

Here are the 6 teams below 2019 the Brewers & Rays eliminated from the Wild Card

NL
Mets (86 Wins)
D'Backs (85)
Cubs (84)
Phillies (81)

AL
Indians (93) Ok...
Red Sox (84) Yikes

Only the Indians played well enough to warrant Playoff Baseball. Keep in mind that the Mets, Cubs, and Phillies fired their manager for not meeting expectations. And no... expanding the Playoff field to include 4 of these teams wouldn't change that.
