Broadcast was slick, I liked the post touchdown and kickoff gimmicks
I really liked all the new rules, though maybe i'd put an extra five yards between teams on kickoffs. The extra point options add a lot more interest to the game.
the in-game experience was surprising tame. No pyro or gimmicks. No cheer leaders, and only a hype guy and a DJ to entertain the crowd during breaks.
The quality of the game is what really surprised me having watched the first iteration of the XFL and the AAF. The game was enjoyable and featured a number of quality plays.
As I posted earlier, I'd definitely go to another game (right now probably March 7).
I'm not sure if this got captured on live TV, but XFL commissioner Oliver Luck (Andrew's dad) walked out to the Defenders' sideline late in the game and got a nice ovation from the crowd. At some point in the final minutes a fan on that side threw an original XFL football onto the field. The crowd pointed at the guy who threw the ball and started a "You Suck!" chant. The officials handed it to Luck who teased throwing it to the crowd, and eventually threw it to toward the guy who initially threw it out onto the field.
Another highlight were the five or so guys sitting in front of us who used duct tape to change their other sport / team jerseys to all say "Jones" and who went crazy when Seattle hit a field goal to make it 31-22 as they had bet the over 51 spread. Then they went nuts again when the field goal was taken off the board due to a penalty and Seattle failed to score again.
