I don't want to give those commies my email address so I'll just chalk it up as fake news. :mg:

90 and sunny in Orlando. Floriduh is obviously the place to be as both presidential candidates are here. Tampa. Or maybe they thought the Rays won and came for the parade. You know how mixed up things get as you get old.

Eta starting to form up around the Lesser Antilles, heading on a similar path to Zeta.

GFS Ensemble for Eta shows it striking a glancing blow around the Nicaragua / Honduras border, then making an almost 90 degree turn and going to South Florida.  Still way too far away for any accurate projections though.

If I were starting a jazz band, I think I would call it the GFS ensemble. But I would need Ryan Zimmerman on the kazoo.

weather is annoying me today.  I decide to go for an 8:30 AM bike ride to beat the call for afternoon rain, only to have it start raining a mile and a half from my house. Now that I've showered and started doing my wash and using liquid plumber on the shower,  it's dry and almost sunny.

ETA is a Katrina-level event for much of Central America. It’s hitting Nicaragua as a cat-4 and the will slowly head across Guatemala,  Honduras, and Belize before heading back out to sea toward Cuba as a tropical depression.

Current indications are it might make it to Category 5 before hitting Nicaragua.

I was reading earlier about how some areas haven’t yet recovered from Mitch in 1998

Looks like it will just hang out in the gulf for a while. And then head toward the Panhandle. But should be diminished.

Not based on what I have seen today. Should be a weaker storm by then. A few days out so forecast could change.

Iota has formed, Current track has it hitting around Nicaragua or Honduras as a Cat-2 or 3 storm.

It's gotten bigger and is going to hit that area hard.  Really bad for the poor people there.  I don't see a track where it will come back into the Gulf as Eta did.
