Skynyrd has an original?

Gary Rossington is still alive and kicking, even after a heart attack. Artimus Pyle is the only other person alive who was in the band at the time of the plane crash, he still tours/plays on his own (and he may still be the only person to survive a plane crash and getting shot in the same day).

Ricky Medlock was with the band for a couple of years in the early 1970s before returning in the late 90's so he might count too. :).

I think they've been on a retirement tour for about five years now.  Don't get me wrong, they sounded fantastic and seeing them play Freebird live is almost a religious experience, but still, they are largely a cover band at this point.  Heck, before the final verse of Freebird Johnny Van Zant put Ronnie's hat on a microphone stand at the front of the stage, waved goodbye, and walked off.  They then showed Ronnie on a big screen above the stage and piped in a recording of him signing the final verse while the rest of the band continued to play the music live.

Saw Kansas a couple years ago. They had two of the originals I believe.

Yes is a funny one.  They have split into two groups claiming the original name. Both with original and long time members. I believe Chris Squire is the only one who has passed.

I still remember the time I saw Super Yes when the two groups came together to play to 25 people at a casino.

Last I saw, Jon Anderson isn't a part of the current touring group, which in my mind, means it isn't Yes.

Journey's guitarist and keyboardist just fired the original drummer and base player, so if they end up touring again they will be down to just Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain from their glory years.

It's even weirder seeing grunge bands like STP and AIC touring without their original lead singers.

I saw Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, and Howe in the late 1980's.  The show was incredible.  It opened with the arena being dark.  They lit up Wakeman who played small solo, then Howe, then, Bruford, then the spotlight went to the center of the arena where Jon Anderson started signing as he walked toward the stage.  IIRC, when he made it to the stage they started playing long distance runaround.  I found a recording of one of their shows here if you have 2 hours to kill:

Anderson, longtime keyboardist Rick Waksman and longtime member Trevor Rabin (Owner of a Lonely Heart) we’re touring as YES ARW.

This article explains it and has the various lineup changes over the years.

Not sure if it was the same tour but saw them in the Round in Philly in the early 80s.  Stage rotated. Very cool.  Friend claims his ear drum was damaged at that concert.

EDIT. I see the link was for a 1989 concert so couldn’t have been the same tour.

The Motley Crue / Def Leppard / Poison / Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Stadium Tour scheduled for this summer is postponed until 2021.

Glad somebody is actually using their brains...whatever is left of them anyway...  :D

Concert tours going from city to city won’t make sense for a while.  2021 is optimistic.

All those acts are in the high risk group for Covid-19 :)

Dawnbringer. An excellent proto-metal band.

I miss Chris Squire.

I wouldn't mind seeing ARW.  Have watched some shows on the Tube and they sound pretty good.  Anderson looks like he's having the most fun he's had in years, and his voice is still great.  I'd love to show up at a PTA meeting dressed like Wakeman just to see people's reaction.

Thanks for posting that.  Love those guys but Waksman looks like a Star Wars reject character also. I’m partial to Steve Howe.  Just get him back with these guys. I will pay to see them.

Howe's certainly no slouch, every bit as good as Rabin, maybe better.  I like Rabin though, as Big Gen & 90125 were the Yes albums of my youth.

And now for something completely different. Well, not completely, as it is still in the rock genre. Mongolian throat singing and rock/metal seem to fit well together.
