Do any of you have any locals musicians that you like to see that are putting together online gigs for their regular customers as a way to earn a little income during this time of social isolation ?

Craig Honeycutt of everything (a band that was big in this area during the 90’s) played live on the group’s Facebook page each night for the last two weeks but not for money.

So I've got Music Choice Classic Rock on in the background on the TV while I'm playing on my computer.  So on comes a great song, All the Way from Memphis, by Mott the Hoople.  Great, slightly obscure English late '60s early '70s band featuring Ian Hunter and for a while Mick Ronson.  So I turn around to look at the trivia / facts they run while the song is playing.  If it is a Stones song or somebody major, they run about 6 or so bits of information while the song is going on.  For Mott the Hoople, they run two - some guy named Steve Tippens or something like that was briefly with them as a vocalist in 1969 (so briefly, he doesn't make their wiki page while 15+ other musicians are listed in their "classic" line up, later members, and side men), and that MtH was formed in 1969.  I started cracking up seeing the same 2 blurbs on again and again.

Now its We're not gonna take it from the Isle of Wight concert.  For the Who, it was 15 "did you knows?" without a repeat, and I only looked around in the middle of the song.

:lmao:

Do you realize
That everyone you know
Some day will die
And instead saying all of your goodbyes
Let them know you realize that life goes fast
It’s hard to make the good things last ...

One of the things we really miss during this stay at home process are the live music shows.  Down here in OBX, the Dare County Arts Council is setting up live shows on their website & Facebook page for area musicians.  This allows donations to be made to the musicians through PayPal.  Is anything like this going on in the DC area ?

a lot of musicians have been doing live short shows on their FB pages, but I haven't seen anything beyond that.  Barenaked Ladies have been doing the #selfiecamjam for a few weeks now.  Craig Honeycutt of Everything ( e: ) played a couple of songs everynight live on FB for about 10 days a few weeks ago.

I've had this earworm for weeks now...

Saw/met them in 2014...didn't know they "broke-up" in 2016 when Ann's husband battered Nancy's sons...but they got back together and toured last year.  Wish I had been on top of that...they put on quite a show...

Another great Tanglewood concert:

It’s funny but at the end of the Chicago concert the host comes out and says that Santana will be their next concert in August.

Love Carlos Santana but Terry Kath was truly amazing. Wish I had seen him in concert.

let me tell you about the time a guy I know snuck me and about 20 classmates into a Ramones concert at Toad's Place.  We got kicked out for trying to steal the banner  / backdrop.

You are just jealous because it's the period with the best music in history.

Now this I can get behind.

Only if you have lived the most milquetoast life ever.

I miss hair bands.

Kix still tours my man. “Blow My Fuse” is up there with some of the greatest (Modern) albums of all time.

most of the 70's/80's/90's bands today aren't much different than cover bands.  I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd last year, there's one original left.  Styx has two.  Foreigner has one.  Seeing Queensryche without Geoff Tate would be almost criminal.

Skynyrd has an original?  I'll look it up, but I thought Collins is dead and I thought Powell and Rossington are off the road.  I mean, you take out the guitarists, Ronnie, and the piano, what's left?

edit - gary rossington is still touring
