They should give him one for his role. :couch:

will there be a more uncomfortable moment in 2020 than Will Harris on the bench for the Nationals ring ceremony?

To be fair to him, that pitch to Howie was not a bad pitch.  It's not like he hung a curve.

Nope. If you watch the documentary (or just the clip where Howie breaks it down), Howie admitted as much. I think Harris may have wanted it to cut a little more. I imagine a lot of that was due to him being tired. He'd been used a significant amount in the WS and said he was tired.

Not at all.  That was exactly the kind of pitch that guys roll over and ground to short all year long.  That thing almost never gets hit out.

That's right.  I think the pitch was low and away, and Howie said something like "it was a really good pitch and I wasn't sure I'd be able to hit it".

I know folks have talked about that go-ahead Kendrick home run, but it really was insane. Since 2008, 5,441 similarly thrown balls (pitcher and hitter handedness, speed, location, etc.) have resulted in swings only 26% of the time, and only 3 of those resulted in home runs

The fact that he evened signed with us at all after that says to me that he is not too ego driven. I am guessing he and Howie will have a laugh or two over it and move on.

Also probably the only three year offer he had.

I'd guess every time he sees the Howie HR replay on the big screen he'll grab his phone and check his bank account balance. :)

I'm sure that had a lot to do with it but can you see someone like Hunter Strickland who stewed over Bryce's homerun for two years (and they won the World series ) signing with us to play beside Bryce Harper if he was still here? Athletes are a prideful bunch. I just think his signing here shows a positive character. I could be wrong

Strickland was acquired in a trade, so he didn't have a choice.  I think it says more about the rest of the team's professionalism (or maybe feelings about Harper) that him showing up didn't cause issues.   Harris is a different issue, but it's safe to say he's not the backpack full of dicks that Strickland is.

That’s what I would do. In fact I would check check my account very day anyway.
