Eddie Van Halen dead at 65 from throat cancer
President John Tyler's grandson, Lyon Gardiner Tyler Jr., has died at age 95, some 175 years after his grandfather left the White House. His older brother is still alive.
if you are ever on the campus of William and Mary, there's a Tyler family garden with busts of all the family members who attended the school.
Thanks. I'll ask my brother about that since he's an alumnus. I haven't been to William & Mary since 1999 and don't know when I might pass that way again.
RIP Whitey Ford. This has been an absolutely awful year for Hall of Famers.
Man. One of my heroes in black and white in the early 60s. He was probably declining by then (what five year old remembers) but my father would talk about him with a little reverence in his voice. Like he used to talk about Willis Reed a decade later.
He was pitching royalty...back when starting pitchers had complete games...and made $10,000+/- a season...
Whitey FordWhitey AshburnWhitey Rigsby (Villanova basketball player)Whitey BulgerI am sure there are others. No one gets called whitey anymore. Well not officially.

Good one.
Joe Morgan at 77. God needed some hitting to go with the influx of pitching. RIP to a legend. One of the greatest players for one of the greatest teams in MLB history.2B WAR: 1930-20201. Morgan 100.52. Carew 81.23. Whitaker 75.14. Grich 71.05. Canoe 68.9
that 100.5 bWAR is 31st all time. He's behind Rogers Hornsby, Eddie Collins, and Nap LaJoie if you include guys from the segregated era for whom there are stats. Among active players, only Pujols has more bWAR, I hated him on Sunday night baseball. Loved Miller.
