Former Redskins quarterback, Sam Wyche (January 5, 1945 – January 2, 2020), who later worked as an NFL coach. As head coach, he led the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII, which they lost to the 49ers 20–16, relinquishing the lead with only 34 seconds remaining. He was also known for introducing the use of the no-huddle offense as a standard offense (as opposed to use at the end of the half).

As player:
    Wheeling Ironmen (1966–1967)
    Cincinnati Bengals (1968–1970)
Washington Redskins (1971–1973), who appeared in Super Bowl VII.
Wikipedia claims "Although playing in eight games during those two seasons, he did not attempt a pass."
That's not true. He came in to mop up for Sonny Jurgenson or Billy Kilmer once, back when QBs called their own plays. Instead of handing off to a running back to run down the clock, he dropped back and threw a touchdown pass.
    Detroit Lions (1974)
    St. Louis Cardinals (1976)

As NFL head coach:
Cincinnati Bengals (1984–1991) (Head coach) including Super Bowl
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1992–1995) (Head coach)

Saw an interview from when MLB-TV started in 2009 that was Yogi Berra & Don Larsen.  Don didn't realize he had a perfect game when Yogi jumped into his arms at the end of the World Series game in 1956.

I wonder if that's a record that will never be broken.  Perfect games are so rare, and none of the recent ones were against a lineup that could make it to a world series.   It would have to be something weird like an injury riddled line up in game 4 where one team is up 3-0 or a rested game 1 against a team playing until 4am and trapped in a snow storm.

halladay had one in the playoffs, so I do think playoff level teams can be completely shut down.  Heck, Anibal and Max had nice ones going v. the Dodgers this year.

Roy Halladay had a perfect game during the regular season, on 29 May 2010 against the Marlins. His post-season one was a no-hitter in the NLDS, not a perfect game.

Don Larsen's perfect game is even more remarkable in that it was not a dominant pitcher against a weak lineup, but a journeyman pitcher who played for seven teams against a lineup with four future Hall-of-Famers (and non-HOFer Gil Hodges, who hit .304 in that World Series).

doesn't mention Catch-22.  He wrote the screen adaptation and had a role in the movie.

I just remember him as Belushi's foil in the Samurai Delicatessen skit.

Edd Byrnes, who rose to fame starring in movies like Grease and TV shows like 77 Sunset Strip, has died. He was 87. As a tribute to his enduring celebrity and his iconic 'Kookie' character, he ranked No. 5 in TV Guide's list of 'TV's 25 Greatest Teen Idols.' He also earned a gold record for the song 'Kookie Kookie Lend Me Your Comb.'"

That's both of them now, right?  McNeil was older, I think. And stepped away far sooner.
