Should have heard of him last week instead of the 4th quarter today.  He may not be very good, but he's definitely more serviceable than Haskins.  Should've started the last two games.  Damn you, Ron.

I love the Heineken jokes about this guy.  Too bad we can't win at 6-10 due to the tie breakers.

What a f'n bum Haskins is.

He is a write-off...another blown high pick that will continue to inhibit the development of this team. If they can't get Snyder to sell the club, at least get him out of player-personnel...we can't be wasting a high pick on someone simply because he and Snyder's son were classmates at Bullis Prep.

Turns out he had finished school prior to ODU beating VPI. I had seen something indicating otherwise elsewhere, but that was wrong.

ODU is often brought up on the JMU fan boards as they are a similar size school that made the jump from FCS to FBS.  They are struggling, going 1-11 overall and 0-8 in CUSA last year. There has been talk of JMU going after the AAC slot that Connecticut vacated, but the question is always do you want to be a powerhouse in the FCS or do you want to play in the FBS even if it means that you will never compete with the top schools.  JMU gets a good deal of transfers and other recruits who go there simply because the school gets some notoriety for its FCS success.  Last year JMU. had five players signed or drafted, which is the most they've ever had in a single year.  They aren't likely to recruit as well if they move to the FBS and perform at the same level of ODU.

I wish Temple would have dropped back to FCS instead of trying to compete at the higher level. Natural rivalries also with Delaware and Villanova.

AAC has pretty expensive travel costs.  UConn is saving a boatload outside football.  They are giving it a good go as an independent in FBS, but realistically, they may struggle to get to be bowl eligible. Still, they've put Michigan and Ohio State on their schedule for 3 games over the next five years, which have a better payoff than most of the bottom tier bowls.  They are also adding back Yale and Holy Cross in 2021, although only one FCS win counts to bowl eligibility.

UConn couldn’t compete in the AAC but they want to play Ohio State.  :hysterical:

I don’t think I’ve ever heard announcers say a player’s career in a city is over with a game to go

Prescient...

Al Galdi tweets a painful reminder:

Quote
@AlGaldi
#WashingtonFootball traded back into 2019 1st round to take Montez Sweat to placate football people. Had Dan Snyder not forced selection of Dwayne Haskins, WFT coulda taken Sweat at 15 (or traded down) & still had 2019 & 2020 2nd-round picks. Many consequences to Dan’s meddling.

Yeah, that's not really fair. Haskins played well for one of the best college teams in football - for one year - and therefore thinks he's great.

He's not a cancer. He's dopey and immature and thinks his crap doesn't stink.
