is any municipality going to fund a stadium anytime soon? They're all broke and that probably will be the case for awhile

will that stop politicians from getting paid by the redskins to push it? stadium deals are already all about kickbacks for pols and the such. i don't see DC funding a stadium anytime soon, there would be huge political backlash. could see VA pols getting interested

People are smart enough to realize that free land and development rights have value (the recent way to give owners free money) and there is a lot of NIMBY around here and an unwillingness to raise taxes (Fairfax couldn't get a 4% meals tax increase to fund schools though). If they go to NOVA, it won't be some inside the beltway or on metro easily accessible site, it'll be a Stafford county middle of nowhere willing to give the team land site

States will be having financial problems also given the pandemic.

States and localities generally need to have balanced budgets. Virginia’s is part of its Constitution. This is not like the federal government.
