Can anyone explain why Jeff Kent seems to be so far from election?  His career numbers should make him a lock.

Looking at 2021, it seems a lock that Schilling gets in.  Clemens and Bonds will be in their 9th year of eligibility.  Todd Helton and Billy Wagner should make decent leaps as well.

He was an ok player, went to a team with a notorious juicer who never tested positive, and became a star. I'm guessing BBWA have a theory as to why that happened

On top of that he was also really abrasive.

I'll put this article here because Dick Allen keeps falling just short of making the Hall.  "Richie" was my favorite player as a kid and couldn't understand why some fans didn't like him.  Of course I was just a kid and my parents were not racists unlike most of the other in my neighborhood and much of the city.  That said it's hard to forgive him for walking out on the club in 1976.
