Penn State is really solid this year, they have a lot of experienced players. It took him 9 years but Chambers finally has a tournament team.

In fact, PSU is the favorite to win the B1G. The Terps will lose at least 2 more games (split MSU, drop one other) and PSU has a cakewalk schedule, only tough game is @ Iowa. Chambers going to hang a banner before Turgeon, freakin a.

PSU dropped a couple.  There's still a chance.

Terps are up 2 games with 4 to play. Have to close out strong and be the champs of the best conference in the country.

Radford on a nine-game win streak heading into their final 2.   They only have a half-game lead over Winthrop in the Big South though.

Turps making a comeback.  Refs now stopping play to look at the monitor over nothing in order to kill the momentum should come as no surprise.

I can't wait for a coach to snap, go full-on Bobby Knight and smash one of those monitors on the floor.

My God.  This monitor crap needs to stop.  Just call the freaking game on the floor.

The UVA-VT game was quite a turn of events. VT scores only 11 in half one. They scores 42 in the second. Even took a lead but loses on a clutch last minute three by Clarke of UVA. 56-53.

VT is way better this year than anyone expected.

Radford is on ESPN-U tonight (versus Hampton) looking for it's 10th straight.  With a win, the senior class will have the most wins by a class in school history. The guy to watch is Devon Eke, a 6'8" transfer from Rider.  They are 9-1 since he became a starter.  This is probably the last decent year for Radford for a while.  Two of their top 3 players graduate this year, and their coach is continually being mentioned for other jobs.  With JMU opening a new arena next year I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up there.

JMU has been awful at basketball for many years--not sure I would recommend that job to anyone.

With the new arena opening in the fall they are going to want to do something to improve the team.  The current coach is in his 4th season and so far has posted a 49-77 record. The athletic director issued a statement a month ago expressing his disappointment with the state of the program.  If I'm the AD I'm putting a blank check in front of Jones.  The timing is good with Mike Jones losing all but Carlik Jones among his star players at the end of the year.  He could possibly have Carlik transfer to join him at JMU with one year of eligibility left.

Unreal. But they needed that game. Penn State won by a tiny margin yesterday.

Quote
The 2020 Big South Men’s Basketball Championship will again be a home-site/earned seed format that returned in 2017.  First round games at the No. 6, 7 and 8 seeds open the Championship on Tuesday, March 3.  The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at the No. 1 seed on Thursday-Friday, March 5-6, while the highest remaining seed will host the championship game on Sunday, March 8 at 1:00pm on ESPN.

If Radford wins tomorrow, they are the #1 seed.  If they lose and Wnthrop wins then they end up tied for the regular season lead.  The tiebreaker is based on W-L record versus the #3 team, then the #4 team, and so on.  I haven't looked to see how it would play out.

I went to the tourney final a few years ago at Coastal Carolina.  Maybe 2016? Fun time.  Home team won.  Too bad they switched conferences.

Coastal had a good team for a while.  They won the tournament in 2014 and 15 and three times in the early 90s.

Anything short of an Big South championship this year will be a major disappointment for Radford, they are the best team in the conference.

There's a "kid" I saw play HS ball on the team and my neighbor is a Colgate grad but yes   ....   In this case, I'm a front runner.
