I think people don't understand that the baseball-specific antitrust exemption is only one of several limitations of (rather than total exemptions from) antitrust law that apply to sports leagues. Even if you stripped away the
Federal Baseball and
Flood immunity, you'd still be on the footing of the NFL and NBA, where the collective bargaining and media-rights exemptions still allow a lot of cartel-like conduct.
