I voted for Juan Soto in the Wild Card Game. That is the most nuts I have ever seen Nationals Park, and obviously it set the stage for everything else.

I voted the final out just because in the back of my mind I thought, what if a single runner gets on, how quickly can it spiral out of control, like it had many times in the season?  Not until the final out, did I exhale.

I was doing controlled breathing the entire game from start to finish.  Stressful!

The Drew Storen nightmare has been finally put to bed.

Howie's HR last night is when I really felt we're going to do this.

I went with Howie Kendrick grand slam. Even after the back to back homers by Rendon and Soto against Kershaw, I still didn't believe. The Kendrick grand slam told me it was okay to believe. Once they hit the NLCS, it was gravy. Everything was just extra.

After all the bad breaks and warning track outs and just struggling to find the bats when it mattered I think two moments stand out as the daggers.

Howie Kendrick had the most clutch bat in the post season in do or die games.

Rendon after that endlessly long bullcrap protest putting one in the stands to give a big middle finger to the umps.

Howie owns the biggest hit in Nationals history right now and its amazing to see it came from a man who can ride out in the sunset a champion.

Final out.  Just because there were so many plays by so many players that if any one of them wasn't made, we wouldn't be there for the final out.

Soto in the wild card.  Post-season always felt like a Charlie Brown kicking the football relationship with the fans until that happened.  That was the first "come back in an elimination game" and set the tone for the LAD and HOU comebacks.  By the time of the Houston series, I had gotten to the point of "just keep it close and lightening will strike late" because it had happened so often.

I did not feel the same way. I was so used to being let down by DC teams in the past that it seemed like the luck would run out. Many of us just refused to believe until it

When you look back on this post season run it really had the same theatrics and roller coaster of emotions like the Caps run did.

WC Game (Columbus Series)
Dodgers (Pens Series)
Cardinals were the outlier because we just dominated them and honestly nobody even mentions anything from those games.
The Astros series was very much like the Lightning series. Win 2. Drop 3. Win 2. Big performances by role players.

DC has a habit for the dramatic.

Kendrick's homer against the Dodgers.  The Wild Card game was awesome, but it only got the Nats back to the round where they'd faced the long-term curse.

When Kendrick's ball landed, though, the ghost of Drew Storen put out his cigarette on the railing and turned to leave.

From there, it was a whole different world.

How did you vote for Howie's HR last night?  That's what I wanted but only see other.

Juan's home run off Verlander.... or the hit in the wildcard game.

Then his first legal celebratory beer!
