when do decisions on offering arbitration have to be made? my guess is they try to resign Taylor for a pay cut or else they may decline arbitration. Stevenson I think is penciled in for the roster as the lefty OF PH / 4th OF now.
Isn't Taylor out of options?
Glad he's not going to a rival. It does mean Sanchez needs to ID a new Stras-hug conspirator.
I hope we jump on Greg Bird if his medicals are not ridiculously bad. We know Rizzo likes him.
NationalsWe’ve included Gomes here only because we think his contract option should not be picked up, and Taylor isn’t worth his salary either.Wilmer Difo, UTILRoenis Elias, LHRPSam Freeman, LHRP (released 11/7/19)Yan Gomes, C* (Option declined 11/2/19)Javy Guerra, RHRPAdrian Sanchez, UTILHunter Strickland, RHRPMichael A. Adrian Sanchez isn't arb eligible per MLBTR and Cot's, so I can't see why they would non-tender him. Difo, OTOH, is due $1.2MM per MLBTR's estimate, which he's not worth. Taylor at $3.25MM is too much.
I could see keeping Difo this time around if Sanchez is your alternative. Though I think Jake Noll might be better than both.Taylor needs to start. I don't think he's as bad as he was this past season, but he needs every day time. With the Indians looking to move Naquin to RF, I'd like to package Taylor and a prospect for one of their decent relievers. Or if they are truly interested in trading Lindor, using Taylor in a package as part of a three team trade.
Before everyone jumps on you, I take it you mean we would not end up with Lindor and that what you are saying is we kick Taylor to the Indians and get something from a 3d team that gets Lindor.

another look at players on our roster who are out of options but aren't cemented in as 25-man members for next year:http://www.nationalsarmrace.com/?p=16302
Love NFA but Todd is crazy if he thinks Rizzo is going to DFA Joe Ross.
Rizzo can't keep Voth, Fedde and Ross without putting at least two of them into the pen (assuming we keep Strasburg). Seems they are decent trade bait right now. If we don't keep Strasburg, then figure Ross is our #4 and Voth is our #5.
He'll probably keep all three.Fedde needs to become an actual reliever. He isn't starting material at this point. Ross and Voth are needed. Stras and Max both have IL stints in the last two seasons and that's likely not going to get better with age. Rizzo is getting an extra roster spot, so he can put all three of them on the roster.
Joe Dillion has betrayed us
Cus we need another first baseman who cant play more than 60 games?
