I read it as something much more encouraging: it's the middle of November, and the Post has to fill column inches. Yet, in the middle of the season for the other 3 major professional sports, they're filling it with Nats non-news. Gone, hopefully forever, are the days where summer sports pages were dominated by discussion of which long snapper might be the backup for the Redskins' pre-season, or of the human interest story of Rex Grossman's barber. For me, that's something worth a toast.
Last year Rizzo came out like gang busters with multiple signings. The fact that he hasn’t this year makes me feel good about Rendon and Strasburg. Last year Rizzo knew Harper wasn’t coming back. Now he has to wait until he sees what happens with those two guys.
He did jack crap until the winter meetings last year
well, there were Barraclaugh and Rosenthal. Which I guess were indeed crap. Corbin was early December.
He acquired 4 players before the end of November.
He made one major move on the last day of November. He also had a month extra to work on them.
Parra signs in Japan. Baby Shark goes to NPB. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/11/gerardo-parra-signs-japan-npb-yomiuri-giants.html
Probably means Taylor is our 4th OF next year.
when do decisions on offering arbitration have to be made? my guess is they try to resign Taylor for a pay cut or else they may decline arbitration. Stevenson I think is penciled in for the roster as the lefty OF PH / 4th OF now.
