OPS isn't.  OPS+ is the comparative version of OPS that does include park adjustments.   WAR does have a park factor baked into it.

Regardless, I don't recall Arenado tearing it up at the plate when the Rockies were in the playoffs last season. In fact, he was 3-16 (.188) with no HRs.

He looked awful here this Spring both offensively and most importantly defensively. There is a reason why the Nats didn't call him up in September and I'm not sure what it is other than speculating.

I seriously wonder if an AL team will make a run at Kendrick as a primary DH who you could play in the field for interleague and to rest other regulars. For example, if  JD Martinez opts out, would the Red Sox offer Kendrick $10MM with an option for another?  It'd save money to allocate to Betts that way.

If I were an AL team I would throw a ton of money at Howie Kendrick. I'd like him back, but I think an AL team will offer him too much money.

If we lose Rendon or Kendrick, I want Cabrera back.

He's not going to get that much.  Contenders already have DH guys.  Other teams would rather play their own young guys.  Also, injury riskk is there.

This morning while I was looking for spare change in the vending machines at the truck stop I sleep at, I had a most brilliant idea.  I came across a US quarter and it got me thinking.  We should take advantage of the exchange rate.  If we offer to pay our players in Canadian Dollars, we could offer "more" while still paying the same.

For example, 10 million US Dollars is equivalent to 13 million Canadian Dollars.  Surely a player would prefer 13 million over 10 million.  I understand this might be "tricky" but baseball is a "business" after all.

so it will take 7 years at $35 million a year to keep Rendon, plus 7 years at around $30 million a year to keep Strasburg.  Can we afford either of them?  Or both?

If we commit to those two, we probably need to be ready to part with Trea Turner after 2020.  Hopefully Garcia or Kieboom are ready to take over at SS.

Depends on the World Series boost of revenue. Ticket pricess were already in the book for next season, but a jump in attendance will help. Interesting to know if they can still push up advertising rates for next season.

The Nationals have been floating in the Top 5 to Top 10 in spending the latter half of this decade. I think to get into the Top 5 consistently, which Strasburg and Rendon require, they have to sort out MASN and consider naming rights to the stadium.
