I gotta say, the bottom of the 9th was the most thrilling experience ever! The final K caught me a bit by surprise. I was popping the bottle of champagne on the pitch and then I thought of my father!

So true Chief.  But I always had to wonder why he would put up with us - it made me wonder if he is a masochist

This place would've descended into lawless anarchy years ago without JCA and tomterp, he's still here on the daily (not sure where he's been tonight though - he did post a bit in the 7th and 8th)

I'm so glad it was this team. Of course it was this team. These guys had everything it takes. Once we took the lead I had absolutely no fear.

And it all started because you followed Julian here!

Hi linty!!! We’ve all missed you! And I’m sooo glad I followed that crazy pitcher around and landed here, I’m so stinking happy for everyone right now!!!!!

Spider - I was sure to wear your favorite Nats shirt - with the number 45

I wanted to go but I'm dogsitting and I knew I would be gone all night and I couldn't do that to the pooches. But I will be at the parade! :whip:

The impossible kept happening, round after round. I'm flabbergasted. Congrats Davey for somehow maneuvering through this whole season. Congrats Stras on becoming exactly who people thought you would be. Congrats Rendon for never wavering from the silent assassin you are. Congrats Howie and Adam, two old dogs who helped everyone along. Congrats Parra for being the best addition to a dugout of all time.

Most of all, congrats Zim. The face of the franchise gets what he deserves more than everyone else combined. What a year. What a year.

I didn’t think I’d get all the feelz like this. I was fifteen when I joined here and I’m twenty-six. As corny as it sounds, it’s like the culmination of ten years of something even though I didn’t actually do anything.

I'm traveling for work this week and have been for about 10 days on a shoot. I'm in corporate housing with my bosses. We had the game on after 12 hours on set and were having a huge meeting going over stuff. They were stealing glances while I was half in the meeting and half out. I basically had to internalize all the emotions but was just so content watching these freaking guys do it.

After the game my dad called me and I'm pretty sure he was crying. We spent like 5 straight years going down for spring training from 2007-2012 to watch the Nats for a week. We went to so many games together. We both talked about how we saw Strasburg's first ever spring training start, his first MLB start, and now just watched him win a World Series. We watched Jose Vidro, to Adam Dunn, to Nyjer Morgan, Elijah Dukes, Brian Schneider, Bryce Harper, to every guy that played in so many heartbreaking games and so many bad seasons. Now we just saw these guys do it.

The journey is so worth it.
