Torre needs to retire good Lord :smh:
What he said was logical.  The ump had a judgement call to make with whether Turner interfered.   It's a ridiculous judgement to make, but a judgement call nonetheless.

I'd like to see a full view of that play to see when the home plate umpire made the interference call. Did he call it right as it happened or did he call it after he saw the the ball went into RF and the Nats had runners on 2B and 3B with no outs? :stir:

max needs to take the mound for game 7 with a neck brace on

Mad Max Scherzer should wear this face guard and back brace on the mound for Game 7:

And Joe Torre.   Joe Torre said he stayed in the lane which was Minty's main argument.

Let's hope Max isn't overamped in the 1st inning tomorrow.  Win or lose, it's been a great season.

He said Trea interfered because the glove came off, what??  He didn’t chop it out of his hand he ran hard and the first baseman lost his glove!

What?

Maybe that was a bit over the top. When asked what adjustment he made after the 1st he said "stopped tipping my pitches"

If it was a judgment call then there is no wrong or right call. Right?  It’s just their judgment. So why did Torre day it’s the right call.

To me it’s can you run outside the baseline all the way and then get back in the last step? We see it all the time so I assume you can. They need to clarify the rule and how they are interpreting it.

So he needs to avoid the glove? I don't think so.

It would be nice if they could have some kind of crew chief review for egregiously bad judgement calls that they can reverse based on the preponderance of common sense.

Once he called it, there was nothing in the rule book that would allow a change of call.

The whole judgment call stuff here and in other sports is just BS. Either he was out of the baseline or he is not.
