I saw that.    Chief must have been serious.    I don't recall seein' him in this state of mind.   We'll have to subpoena the next mod meeting transcript.

Maybe if you hanging out in a Home Depot parking lot in Manassas but the DC Vortex for events like this is nothing but overpaid and over educated needledicks that can’t change a flat or name a Sly and the Family Stone song if their very lived depended on it.

Even if the decision was emotion driven, the decision was still the right one.

I mean, he's literally the only poster I've ever ignored. I took him off after a while, but he just really did a great job of getting under the skin with the Internet Tough Guy act.

Got tired of his nonsense.  I don't see him ever changing so temporary measures seemed pointless.

I’ll have to cut back on the positivity.

I'm assuming this is tongue-in-cheek, but calling his posts "postive" is like calling antifreeze "tasty"

Just a reference to Smithian’s SSS post.

(Bad metaphor. Antifreeze is tasty. lots of dogs are poisoned because it tastes good. But I take your point.)

His posts are/were superficially positive but most were engineered to elevate his status as the supreme fan or whatever you'd like to call it.

Antifreeze is tasty but drinking it is toxic.

Seems like the perfect metaphor to me, but regardless, the guy was toxic and wore out his welcome a long time ago.

I never thought of it as “Internet Tough Guy” so much as holier-than-thou-condescending-prick kind of guy....

Well the tough guy stuff came when he and Cory decided to tee off on Slate for being Slate. I'm trying to imagine that interaction in real life.  :hysterical:

He had both going on. He was a better fan than you or I would ever be. Just ask him.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised that there'd be fewer "visitor" fans in the more expensive areas.  A lot of the Astros stuff just looks gaudy/cheesy to me so maybe that's why it stands out.  A lot of them (esp in the 236 group) had orange towels too.  That confused me.  Street vendors selling them I guess?  Surely not being given out at the park.

Lotsa congressional staff/lobbyists handing out perks as well, methinks

Markedly better atmosphere despite the early hole digging and the return of head shaking (42-year old reliever on consecutive October nights? Sure!). More opposition infiltration than last night, but we held our own.

I was in 239. The Houston contingent up above me to the left had me hoping for another hurricane.

There were many more Houston folks there tonight. I think many people sold their tickets when they realized it wasn’t a clinching game.
