The issue I see is that the Lerners will not exceed 450 M because that is what they paid for the franchise. This is not a hobby for them and they will continue to run it as a profitable business. Yes they enjoy the benefits of owning a team but the bottom line is they do not make emotional decisions like Snyder.

Team is worth almost 2 billion now

Sigh.

Brings that scene from the 1960's version of 'Jungle Book' to mind,,,'Trust in me, just trust in me....' ;)

Sigh.
This doesn't bother me too bad. He was with a coach and they were wearing Nationals gears.

He can have fun. He's brought a championship to the city and did his job this year.

I don't even get it being a negative at all.   It's refreshing to see a guy like Soto who loves everything about baseball and his former teammates.

Same here. It speaks highly of the kind of bond this team had.

There's no negative, they showed up in Nats gear rooting for their boys. Puts our team in a great light.

He was with Kevin Long. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a coach and player pal around.

I think he needed someone old enough to stand in the beer line for him.

Kevin Long seems like his personal coach, which is why the Nats not giving him a multi-year deal is insane.

I think Soto and Long attending the game in LA and supporting Trea and Max was a class act, especially Soto. It showed just how tight-knit the 19' team was. That is a feather in Davey's hat. I was always a fan of Soto but this probably puts him right behind Trea as a player I will always follow and hope for great things. I really hope one day Trea can return to Washington as a fan in a post season game and return the gesture.

Is it significant that he chose to wear a Trea shirt, given that it is unlikely that TT shall return? If it was 'the Boys of '19' then he could have worn a Max shirt, which might have conveyed a different interpretation, as it not impossible that Max could be back. I'm sure the Dodgers won't have passed-up on the opportunity for a bit of schmoozing... ;)

It's also entirely possible that he still hasn't learned to read English and thought he was wearing a Soto shirt.  Just saying....

That’s what I read and they exchanged phone calls when the batting title race was close. Too many conspiracy theorists on the board.

We don’t know where Trea is signing long term yet. Probably will be the Dodgers but can’t know for sure.

I will be very curious what they do with Seager.  Only one of them can play shortstop.  If they re-sign Seager, then does Trea go someplace where he can play short?  Or does Justin Turner retire and Cory Seager move to 3rd and Trea go to short?  Or, in a twist, if JT retires, do they sign Cory this year and Kyle next?
