I have no problem with those for whom nth degree stats analysis is a crucial part of enjoying the game. Equally, I have no problem with those for whom stats play no part in their enjoyment. Each to their own - how we all choose to enjoy our sport is a matter of personal preference; no-one is 'right' or 'wrong', 'better' or 'worse'. As long as no one type tries to claim that 'their way' is the only way, then we'll be fine, and avoid a lot of pointless argument and ill-feeling in the process.

Wonderful approach.

One thing about baseball is that it has always had meaningful numbers and a quant angle. It is why fantasy baseball was invented before football. I used to laugh at early attempts by ESPN to invent stats for it's soccer broadcasts in the 90s. Really it used to be an American thing due to baseball. Now at least there's meaningful ways to measure basketball, hockey and soccer

I'm kind of the same way. The stats and numbers and analytics that some of you guys spout of amaze me. 1.) Amaze me that you know both what they are and can remember them, and 2.) confuse the other living hell out of me because you guys may as well be speaking Greek to me  .

We can all enjoy baseball like we enjoy Burger King. Have it your way!

Per an Atlanta beat writer, Juan Soto has 6 home runs and 24 RBI in 57 games at Nationals Park this year.  Dansby Swanson has 5 homers and 10 RBI in 9 games at Nats Park.

Has Soto really played that many games at home this year?  He was on the IL for a while.

He had a slow start and even when he heated up, he still wasn't hitting it hard at home. Soto will end the year with a .950+ OPS.

I looked it up.  57 home games is correct.  and 50 away games.  13 HRs and 39 RBIs in the away games.

Is that a five minute argument, or the full half hour?... ;)

Just the five minutes.

That's £ 1, right?

Since August 1: .339   .533   .583, 7 home runs.  Seems the blow-up didn't impact him much and Bell is providing adequate protection (if you believe that lineup protection is a thing).

He's hitting .311 on the season, just .005 behind the league leader, some guy named Tray Turner. :)

Looks like Tatis, Soto, and Harper are going to be the top 3 for MVP.

It would be nice if he went on a power surge to finish the year over 1.000 OPS. At .979 right now.

Didn't know where to post this but I saw a foreign red convertible ( Audi?) today with "J Soto " license plates. Mods can move this if they like.

Soto's 454 foot homer? That is Frank Howard distance. Pay the lad whatever he wants and throw in shares of the team.

Lerners are offering civilian rides on soto homers.
