Didn't Musial have a more upright stance?    They both load up on that back leg though when they swing.
Placememt of the lead foot.

Zimmerman just to get the Nats on the board was the turning point. And Scherzer has big brass ones. Good night.

I would say this was a good Night!   Unbelievable.  What a confidence builder.

Turning 50 while tethered to an all-night skype meeting sucks a lot less when the Nats win game 1 of the WS, that's for damned sure  :minigunz:

I'm gonna buy a hard copy paper in the morning and read the hell out of it.    Then, I'm gonna add it to my collection of newspapers that my Grandmother started, probably for her kids, with the coverage of the flood of 1936.   There's the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; D-Day; FDR's death.     I got a Sunday paper from 1945 with Rosenthal's picture on the front of the Roto section of the Post-Gazette.    Maz's HR, Kennedy's assassination, Nixon resigns, Challenger, Obama's Inauguration, etc. and everything in-between.    We saw history tonight.    There will never be another first World Series game/win for our Washington Nationals.

I agree.  That was really big.  It felt like the Nats should have been down 3 or 4 runs, but suddenly the Nats were only down one.

I just read somewhere that Soto is the first player with a HR, 3 hits and a SB in a World Series game since 1997.   Not bad for his first Series game.

Wow, I didn’t manage to get over for the WS my schedule at work has just been hell and I couldn’t sort it in time.

I did however watch the game live and it was amazing. I just hope we can do it again tomorrow. So excited

I did my morning look/see.    Haven't run into a hard copy first edition with the game one stories yet.    I'll do a walk about later.

Soto: "In the first at-bat, I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit shaking in my legs".   :hysterical:

That guy went to lots of trouble to put meaningless data together. Needs a girlfriend.

The guy literally made up data. Instead of using actual statistics about the pitchers and teams involved he made up two fake teams and ran the numbers based on them. I guess he was trying to create a more generalizable insight rather than specifically address the Nationals and Astros, but either way the article aged very poorly very quickly.

Except for the fact that he came to the conclusion that it wasn’t worth it to duck Cole...so
