It'll be interesting if the Astros drop tonight.  Verlander on short rest,

Verlander pitched Sunday so he's not on short rest.

Why?

I think I’d almost rather the Astros win tonight so they run into some of the same lay-off issues we do. Going six I don’t think makes a difference because they still can line up Cole Verlander. Now if they go to 7 and then we miss Cole (or miss the Astros enitirely) then that’s really good.

If the Yankees win tonight there is a good chance they win game six and force Cole to pitch game 7.

Saying I’d rather the Nats not have to face The best pitcher in baseball prior to game 3 is not making excuses.

My first baseball games were at Yankee Stadium 1.0...the eating of cased rat meat plucked from filthy water was the most amazing experience of my life to date at age 8.  I could not believe that the greasy dude with a handlebar moustache could squirt magical yellow and red stuff on the rat dog that made it even more awesome.

Let's see this one to 7.

To stretch the series.
What does that matter?

It doesnt matter, you're facing him twice in the series.

The Nats don’t have to fave Strasburg. Or Scherzer.

You said you would rather the Astros win tonight. In which case Cole would be rested and pitch game one. So I’m confused.

So Cole has to pitch again. And their bullpen has to pitch again. And maybe even Verlander again in game seven in relief. Wear and tear is real at this time of year.

Nats are a good freaking team. They don't need handicaps.

Historically, that's not relevant. If anything, it's an advantage to the Astros

Twice if it goes 7. Which most series don’t.
