Excellent point not mentioned by the genius announcers.
Carp did just mention it.

It's crazy to think that if we win tomorrow, it's realistic to imagine winning the series at home.

Also, we may not have a deep bullpen, but it looks like we've got 2 closers now.

Now that Hudson has delivered his baby maybe he'll quit lollygagging and get back to work.

Yes, well, that's very nice and all.  Context in the larger world is great, but unless we beat the Cardinals three more times we don't play anyone else, so I'm not really worried about whether he can get anyone besides the Cardinals out at present.

But that was their 2-3-4 hitters in the 9th.

Hell of a game, cards are still the cards and can turn it around at any point.

They did just score 10 run ins in the 1st.

We needed a game like this, hopefully fires up scherzer for tomorrow to bring his A game.

I imagine the cards are a little worried that Sanchez just did that to them, and it wasn’t even one of our top 3.

Never mind. I replied to the wrong post. Was talking about Hudson.

First class? Billionaire Lerner needs to provide a private jet.

I think the CBA actually requires first class, where available.

Sanchez putting up 7 2/3 is so big.  I just looked, and only two pitchers in last year's National League and American League Championship series pitched seven innings, and none pitched more.  Scherzer got to seven in the division series this year, and no one else could.

Being able to just use one reliever and not put too much stress on him is maybe the most important thing (besides winning the game) that occurred.

I read somewhere (Boswell maybe?) that bullpens are more important in the playoffs because lineups are among the best, and starters rarely make it past six innings.  Will be interesting to see how it plays out for our Big Three over the next few games.

Also, does Sanchez move into a relief role now? What do you do with a guy who has been your best postseason starter ever  (counting the division series performance)?

That’s the question, isn’t it?
I think it all depends on whether we need him out of the pen before his turn rolls around again.
So far Davey has made all the right moves. I think he’ll handle him right - given the situation.

The view from St. Louis. Soto has them mesmerized with his shuffle.  :mg:

Eaton also.

Big time game from Sanchez when they needed it. Not sure if Hudson will be back tomorrow but the rest of the own other than Doo is rested now. I suspect Max will only have six innings in him.

Is Max on full rest?  If Sanchez can go 7 2/3 then so can Max!

All our starters are on full rest. From what I've read the Cards feast on power pitchers and struggle with slow speed guys such as Sanchez last night.
