Cheapest tickets are $134 for SRO. On Stubhub, they are now $169 for SRO Game 1.   In STL the tickets are starting at $53.

did anyone catch Carpenter's postgame interview with Scherzer? He asked him how it felt to be facing off against the team they (Scherzer and Carpenter) grew up rooting for. Scherzer told him that he didn't care because it's all about DC.

Kendrick was similarly lobbed a softball about hitting the slam in that particular setting – – where he had been a player – – and was having none of it, as he didn’t wax nostalgic about the Dodgers

Troy Aikman does a better job hiding his allegiances than Bob Carpenter, and Troy Aikman isn't the one being paid by a different team than the one he roots for.

He was partying with everyone else...gotta think he's GTG...
It looks like his status for game one is "uncertain."  This article says that in the clubhouse he "held his left wrist and looked as though he didn't want to move it".

Someone should ask Carpenter when he's planning on washing the soiled Cardinals onesie he sleeps in.

Isn’t that 4 days rest for Max?

Dang, you're right.  I was thinking it was Tuesday when he pitched.  That was Monday.  My bad.  Forgot there was an off day after Game 4.

Nice speech, coach. Real classy. Special thanks to dumbass rookie Randy Arozarena for the live feed....Eff the Cardinals.

We're coming for you, buddy.

I don't think it was bad by the manager.  That's meant for just your clubhouse to fire them up.  What is STUPID is him thinking he should share that on social media.  Younger people today thinking everything in their life needs to be on social media...I mean I'm 35 so not that old...but come on.

Kind of cheap that we won more games, but they get homefield

Roster construction will not. be an easy task.  We absolutely need more pinch runners at the expense of dead beats in the pen.

Seven games is a different beast.  You need someone to soak up some outs in the pen, but the real problem here is Robles and Suzuki - the Nats already were playing with 24 with Robles hurt, and Suzuki will be on the roster even if he's missing a game or two, so what happens then?

Suzuki is tough. Catching as many games as he has proves it.  Rizzo said that if he doesn't have bone showing he is a sure bet to play

It seems that if Robles was close yesterday, that he should be good to go by tomorrow.

And I've seen Suzuki look almost dead before and be back the next day.

Nationals have to go with a more standard bullpen for at minimum a few games. I don't think our starters can hold up another 7 game series going all hands on deck, unless it is an elimination game.

That's the gist of what FanGraphs is saying (also noting that the Nats will be unable to feast on left-handed pitching)

Rainey got 2 outs last night...not much but maybe a little confidence boost.  The off days after every couple games helps a lot, because your true bullpen guys (not starters turned relievers) should be available every game.  So we basically pencil Doo and Huddy in for 2 innings each game between them.  You hope the starters go at least 6.  That leaves about 3 outs a game from the other guys.  Fingers crossed...

Wouldn't mind seein' Michael A. Taylor gettin' some time in RF.

Good read, thanks for sharing.  Looks like a very different series and I'm thankful we wouldn't have to face Flaherty until Game 3.

I think the Nats are gonna want some left handed bats in the lineup...

I'd much rather have Eaton's bat in the lineup.  His walk started the 10th inning.

And the real Taylor has shown signs of resurfacing. I think they should consider swapping Adams with Stevenson.
