"Washington has ridden the arms of its starting pitchers to a commanding 3-0 NLCS lead, an advantage only one of 37 teams (the 2004 Yankees) has blown in MLB postseason history. Of the 36 teams to win after going up 3-0, 29 finished the sweep in Game 4."

So if ( not using when because I highly believe in jinxes) we win this thing, who do you want to see in the World Series?

Both teams are super tough but I prefer to see the Astros just because the Yankees fans would be more likely to attend the games at Nats Park.

This is all payback for 2012. They talked serious smack after winning that series.

Yes.

I’m sure seven years ago weighs heavily on everyone’s minds!   :lmao:

That would be negatory, partner. Some of us never gave up on the team and have always said that if you get in the postseason anything can happen. The Blow It Up Blowhards just didn't get how this whole postseason thing works.

"Weighs heavily" is pretty strong. But it has annoyed me personally because the Nats got hosed because Molina worked the umps. Can't speak for everyone else.

I don't even remember how you came down on the Blow It Up thing because I can't tell you and slate apart. :hysterical:

I have seen the 2004 Red Sox comeback against the Yankees referenced several times, and one of the Fox announcers mentioned that the Yankees' third victory was even more of a blowout than the Nats' win last night was.  What I don't see mentioned is the fact that the Red Sox won the first three games of the World Series against ... the Cardinals ... and then proceeded to sweep them.

Yankees.   Absolutely.  Nats/Yankees would be a World Series Classic no matter what happens.  Nats/Astros would soon be forgotten.

There's also the absurd media adulation the Yankees get, especially from ESPN, and their fans are substantially more unpleasant than Astros fans.  But let's not count chickens yet.

No one should be looking ahead until we take care of the current series.

We’re all looking ahead. The Cardinals have a fork stuck in them. They carry the stench of defeat.

Saying I'd prefer the Yankees in no way means I'm looking ahead. Cards could easily win the next two, here, and they're right back in it.

I kind of want Cole to get knocked around a lot tonight because only then would Strasburg be universally acknowledged as the starter having the best postseason so far.

Yeah yeah yeah... petty first world problems.

If we're being selfish, I want him to be masterful. Because then he'd still be due for a stinker.

The only people for which it matters if they look ahead are those on the 25-man. And I don't think any of them are on WNFF.

No sir. How has looking ahead and over cooking dinner worked in the past?

We need to repeat what we have been doing all season.

I don't think I've ever seen non-Washington media say things like that about the Nats.
Have they ever had a reason to?

I can't believe people give a freak about that. As long as he's dealing for this team I don't care who n the media acknowledges it.
