You don’t see the term manhandle used a lot in baseball. The Nats are manhandling the Cards. Complete domination. Now it’s Corbin’s turn to deal. Need him to get back on track.

This is all payback for 2012. They talked serious smack after winning that series.

According to slateman,  the notion of payback having anything to do with this series is non-existent. Maybe somebody should ask Stras or Zimmerman.....

Corbin was sharp in his last outing against LA

How about Livan Hernandez ?

I'd say let's get an OG Nats guy like John Patterson or Nick Johnson to throw out the first pitch but they'd get hurt walking to the mound.

I’m assuming he cheated. Just like the Cards always do.

Why is Robles still on roster?

When Matt Adams got the single and they didn't pinch run Robles or Parra, either Martinez fell asleep or he still thinks he has a short bench. I think Robles has now missed five games. Reaching point in hindsight he should have been put on DL.

Give Martinez credit, he has Nats in the NLCS even though between his bench and bullpen this roster has a half dozen players he is scared to let on the field.
I've had some painfully bad tales this offseason.

You lost me at "According to slateman..."

I don't know if payback matters to certain players. It matters to me. Slateman (Mr. Reverse Psychology) and his psychotic musings don't matters crap to me.

In case if there is a Game 5

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27846892/sources-forecast-rain-wednesday-alter-nlcs-alcs-schedules

The schedule for both the American League and National League Championship Series could be altered because of the forecast of heavy rain in New York on Wednesday, sources told ESPN.

With the possibility that Wednesday's ALCS Game 4 between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees is a rainout, Major League Baseball is considering moving a potential NLCS Game 5 between the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals to that night, sources said. The NLCS game is currently scheduled to start at 4:08 p.m. ET, but on days there is only one game, MLB prefers to have the game in prime time.

I think if you have a lead and you need to pull Stras before the 7th inning, using Scherzer Sanchez for an inning has to be an option.
Still applies. I don't want to get to Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday. I want to be done with the NLCS before the Yankees/Astros have finished Game 3. Bury them here and now and set your rotation up for the next series.

Looks like rain in DC also. Just finish it today. No worries.

That would be negatory, partner. Some of us never gave up on the team and have always said that if you get in the postseason anything can happen. The Blow It Up Blowhards just didn't get how this whole postseason thing works.

The difference is that the rain here is supposed to clear up in the evening, where as it is not forecasted to clear up at all in NYC until late into the evening. That would probably benefit the Astros more than the Yankees, as they effectively get an extra day of rest for their starters.

wunderground shows peak rain between 12-5, so if they flip the game to 7 PM we might be OK. Thursday is supposed to be very windy (20 MPH)

Thursday would be our travel day, no? I think they're going to make it a night game, unless the weather forecast drastically changes for NYC in the next 24 hours.
