Davey is now 82-82 as a manager. Given the talent that he inherited, that’s pathetic. If the Nats continue to plod along at .500, he’ll be gone by June.

Dusty was one of the best managers in MLB meanwhile Davey is the absolute worst Rizzo should have had the sack to fire him admit his mistake and bring in a real manager this off season

Who is kidding here? This is a major problem and everybody around baseball is zeroing in on it. The question is, what are we going to do about it?

That is an actual fu%&ing quote from Dave Martinez after yesterdays game. Is he that limited that he can't provide a more reasonable assessment? I get not wanting to kill your team in the press, but this makes him sound even more over-his-head than he is.

With the exception of 2 relievers, and we all knew the bullpen was weak, they did play well. Scoring 8 runs is phenomenal in itself. But what do you want to hear him ripping Robles for making 1 mistake after another, ripping Rendon for leaving so many men on base, ripping the pen, ripping Rizzo and the Lerners? It's only the 2nd game so it's a little early to panic, call the season over and look for Dave and Rizzo's heads on a platter just yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what Corbin brings to the table.

I'd like to see him ripping the team for mental mistakes and not executing the fundamentals. Things like catching and tagging baserunners.

This was preached all offseason and supposedly worked on all Spring Training.

The players simply dont respect Davey

This isnt about "good." Its about execution. They watched in their off day as their manager got ripped in the media for their lack of execution against deGrom. And then they go out there and play like a Little League team. They dont give a crap.

I don’t see how breaking the wrong way on fly balls or getting picked off shows that at all. The former means he’s not a good fielder. The latter is probably being over aggressive. Do you honestly think a rookie is not trying? You sir are king of the hot takes.

Love that you have literally no idea what makes Girardi a good manager and what he actually manages like. Veterans love Girardi. He gives them a ton of freedom.

Good point, I tried to learn more but I didn't get any hits on Google, I tried "Joe Girardi ice cream", "Joe Girardi camel" and "Joe Giradi little things" with no luck at all.

OT I swear I saw Girardi (and appeared to be family) on Independence AVE, SW years ago at the Smithsonian exit/entrance to Metro. My guess is it was in the mid-2000s sometime in the late fall. Whoever he was managing must have gotten eliminated early. The only way I recognized him was he had recently been on TV in the playoffs.

Don’t know how the first few days of the MLB season could have been more painful for us then watching Harper worshipped in Philly while we’re stuck in the mud with a manager that has absolutely no leadership qualities or quick witted instincts for the game of baseball.
I have tried to convince myself our bullpen really isn’t that bad and we can overcome “little dave” however, hard to stomach yesterday’s loss without opening your eyes as to where our Nats are actually headed in this now tough NL East.
Not sure why, but many continue to pick the Nationals to go to the World Series even though the last five Series Champs all had good pens??? I don’t get it?
“Just two games” or not, I’m thinking i better overstock the spirits cabinet early this year so the wife isn’t screaming down the steps at me, “aren’t you too old for those words”!!!

If nothing else, I have gained a new “favorite team” - “whoever is playing the Phillies”.

Let’s turn this thing around!!!
