I'm still on the Martinez train, but it appears to be harder to manage a team when you aren't playing last place teams.

Really it's not fair to judge a first year manager competing against a first place team. Martinez is on the inside track to win the up and coming manager of the year award. He's the George Mason University of managers.

Yes, pretty much every man with money had gout in those days.

Because they ate and drank like there was no tomorrow. Hell, there wasn't much tomorrow for a middle aged man in the 1700s.

Yes, pretty much every man with money had gout in those days.

This isn't on the manager, I don't want to read that our starters are hitting a wall because Martinez has them throwing 110 pitches per game.

I've liked Davey's style so far. You need a relaxing clubhouse during a long season.

But after tonight's pathetic mental mistakes on the basepaths and in the field,  I feel like he needs to rip into them. There's. Big difference between relaxed and lazy/complacent. This team doesnt know it.

Our genius manager is having us play the horrible "no doubles" defense, because many singles can't hurt you.

Five guys taken out via caught stealing, pick offs and avoidable double play. It was an ugly day on the base paths.

They won because Soto went apecrap and the bullpen did a fantastic job. There is no excuse for that many base running blunders, as well as Rendon's crappy "Oley bullcrap" play at third that let a run in.

I’m so-so with Davey but, man, the rest of the coaching staff is a major downgrade from last year. I miss Maddux and Kevin Long sucks.

Definitely Long was a mistake.

Not thrilled with Martinez tonight, should have pinch hit for Fedde and that Murphy PH was not a good call.

Davey is starting to look more distressed to me during games, and his post gamers are starting to sound like Matt Williams day in, day out.  He is stuck and they doesn't know what to do to get going.  (Neither do I.)

His post game comments are laughable, he's a cheerleader, there is no analysis going on.

Haven't seen this posted yet but I'm wondering why Ray Knight wasn't interviewed for the managers position. He certainly has the fire in the belly , has player and managerial experience and isn't a "homer".
