Curious why the Joc deal is now a no go.

I'm wondering if the Sox chipped in some additional cash to obviate the need for side-deal salary dumping and got better prospects in return.  The reason I say that is that the original reports said they'd cover "roughly half" of Price's remaining contract and the revised deal reports take out the "roughly."

Honestly, I think the Angels suffered from little brother syndrome.

Stripling would have been a good pickup for them

Didn't reports say Arte got pissy over the delay and canceled the deal?

this sounds right.  The Doyers sent money with Maeda to get Graterol, another prospect, and a pick, so there's not much relief there.  I think the Sox thought they were getting another Eduardo Rodriguez (#3) when they made the original deal, so that may explain why they probably got a second eventual regular in Downs plus a guy who should also hit the majors as a catcher.

A-Rod paying Bonilla is something nobody would have predicted.

What's next, Hideki Matsui buying the Phillies? Andy Pettitte owning the Braves?

Ironic that they'd sell to a cheater in the midst of a cheating scandal. Too bad it won't happen sooner- I'd love to hear owner ARod asked if his cheating was worse than Beltran's

Luis Severino out for 2020 and possibly part of 2021 for TJ surgery.  Big blow to the Yankees rotation.

Not sure why we'd give up that much for a 0.4 WAR player.

Honestly, the Yankees have the depth and lineup to compensate. Might be the only team in baseball that does

I'm sure he's looking for road trips paid for by someone else where he can get away on the weekend and visit his favorite places.

When Jones introduces himself to new... um, people...do you think he tells them his name is Chipper, or Larry?

Call me Ishmael.

Right name to use if he's going whale hunting.  I didn't know that was his preference, but to each his own.

So let me get this right. The Yankees are the richest and most successful team in baseball, Aaron Judge is the face of their franchise, and yet when he broke his rib in September 2019 it was not detected for 6 months and he continued playing baseball and working out while his broken rib didn't heal?

If you're wondering why the injuries pile up for them, this might be a clue
