I'm heading to the AL WC shortly. Don’t know more than a couple of players on either team. :(

And you have to watch baseball in that wretched mausoleum looking monstrosity.

This is a contest between the teams with the two worst buildings in baseball.  Kind of a nightmare architecture World Series mise en abyme

I thought in baseball we called them "quaint" and "landmarks" and "historic."

Wrigley and Fenway yes,  Oakland and Tampa, no. :)

Depends where you sit.  The Coliseum actually isn't bad upstairs or in the bleachers.  Neither one has sewer issues, and in the latter you don't even have to look at Mount Davis.  And A's fans are a fun crowd.  They actually watch the game, unlike the panda hat wearing vegans across the bay.

Also, the A's team is pretty entertaining.  They're a weird looking crew, but both the lumber and defense are there.

And Neuse.  And Petit. And if he weren't hurt, Treinen.  And if they win, Roark will be on the playoff roster.

Also, people somehow still seem unaware of who the corner Matts are.  They're both really, really good.

I'll be in a corporate suite, so likely with mostly people who are there for the food/drink.

Just saw Roark didn't make the A's roster, but former Nat great Yusmeiro Petit did.

I can't really imagine what a corporate suite there looks like.  I'm thinking a velvet rope surrounding a block of regular seats, with a befuddled, probably fairly stoned, attendant bringing you unadorned hot dogs and warm beer every 15 minutes and foisting them on you whether you want them or not.

Even Oakland is gentrifying.  Last time I was there I barely recognised it as the same place that at one point had "Welcome to East Oakland, motherfreaker" sprayed over the Greyhound sign at the bus station  :D

The Oakland gates opened at 11am.  The crowd should be juiced by now.  :glug:

Lots of similarities to last nights game.  Tons of musical instruments in the crowd here in Oakland, including a guy with a tuba.
