Yankees have a vulnerability in their starting pitching. Usually they can out hit any problems, and they are getting some health back, too. Best case scenario for the Nats might be for the Yankees to outslug their problem in the ALCS but for our starters to have better luck suppressing them. Or maybe the best case is for a low scoring World Series with the 'Stros and rely on late inning thunderbolts from Soto/Rendon/Kendrick/Turner/RZ/Studzuki/MAT
Hope it goes seven games with a few extra innings affairs. Beating the Yankees would be great fun. But beating Astros on top of taking down the Dodgers would be epic.
Epic only to sabremetricians. To put it in a way you'd understand it, isn't beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl better than if it were the Chiefs?
The latter would make for an interesting spring in WPB...
When was the last time the Yankees won? 2009? The Astros won in 2017. The yanks used to be a dynasty. No longer. Closer comparison would be the Cowboys.
I ninja'd in the point about Man U v City, which I think holds.
It's always best if the Patriots don't even make it to the Super Bowl...
We'll know more about the Pats after they get through extended pre-season v. the AFC and NFC East.
Is that ever going to happen? I mean they might as well just book their flights to wherever it is in February.
We will see you on November 17.
Okay, and? That series is done. They're not beating Grienke, Verlander, and Cole.
