I have no idea how to read all that. Does the 1.5 spread mean that if someone bets on the Dodgers, and the Dodgers win by 1 run, that the bettor loses the bet?
Yes. The Money Line bets are just betting on who you think will win. If you bet 100 dollars on the Nats and they win, you will will 132 dollars. Conversely, you would have to bet 152 dollars on the Dodgers to win 100 dollars if they win.
I still think we've got a solid shot to win tonight. But if we don't, I'll blame the Curse of the Bambinterno. If Matt Williams finally does his Babe Ruth impression, it should get the monkey off bad fortune off our backs.
I think you're being awfully creative to think we have a chance to win tonight, considering the schedule.
Positive number = what you get if you bet $100 and the team you bet on winsNegative number = what you need to bet to get $100 if they win.So if you bet $100 on the Nats, and they win, you get $232 (your $100 + $132).If you bet $152 on the Dodgers, and they win, you get $252I believe the spread takes into account odds of winning/losing by a set number of runs (in this case 1.5). Total = total # of runsBottom line, we're big underdogs.
http://There are things you know, but then they smack you in the head when you rediscover them: the starting pitcher in two of the Nationals' three previous NLDS Game 5s was Gio Gonzalez.Combined line: 8 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 8 BB(!), 10 K.

Happy steak day!
Happy lasagna day (I'm a vegetarian... but it is homeade lasagna)
I made ground turkey gyros in the instant pot on Monday and still have leftovers so that's dinner again tonight.
Totally off topic and I apologize, but is the instant pot really good? I've heard so many horror stories about them exploding and such . I have really wanted to get one but I have been holding off for that reason. Are there advantages in an instant pot over a crock pot or are they basically used in the same capacity?and just to make this technically on topic...... GO NATS
I've had one for about 2 years now and still use it at least 2-3 times a week. The big advantage is speed, and that you can cook frozen meat. I can make a beef stew in about 30-45 minutes in the IP and have it come out falling apart.
Ribs make the instant Pot purchase worth it. I can now cook short ribs on a weeknight. In fact I did Korean Short Ribs last night. Before it would have taken hours.
my company literally just made a DIY network video on how to make short ribs + pho on a weeknight using an instant pot i got one as a gift last year and have only used it as a slow cooker. im lazy
is it publicly availablele? I did Pho once and it came out really good.
Any LADF lurkers are probably a bit dismayed that the big topic of convo in these parts is what to cook in an Instantpot
