What the hell is Dave thinking leaving Suero out so we can have 3 catchers? :mg:

I guess he wants to be able to pinch-hit whichever of Kurt or Yan isn't starting.

I'm shocked that they decided to leave Suero off the roster and that they went with Read so maybe they aren't as confident in Suzuki's elbow.

He lost the ability to throw out a base stealer long ago but at least he can still rake unlike Read who is about as good at the plate as a pitcher.

Three catchers for a WC game is pretty standard - 3 of the 4 teams last year went with three guys who could catch.

In combination with a lingering injury, yeah.  But the SD monster doesn't like having only 9 pitchers, so at least they did something a little bold.

I'm not. Wander isn't likely needed.

I imagine you want to get 7 innings from Starting Pitching. Whether thats all Max or Max plus Stras/Corbin. Then Doo/Hudson handle 8 & 9. Sanchez if we go past 9. All with an off day after if you advance.

I'm guessing since Strasburg or Corbin would be pitching multiple innings if they actually come in, 9 pitchers should be enough.

Try to picture the players on the Brewers roster in your brain. Trust me, you can't do it. You can probably picture Braun, Cain and Hader but the rest of the guys are just the default face from a video game create-a-character.

Eric Thames was good for a minute. And Moustakas is famous.

To be fair, Orlando Arcia pretty much does look like the default video game face.

Moustakas is famous in Kansas City which is like being the starting QB at your town's high school.

Orlando Arcia sounds like the Walmart-brand version of Robert Acuna.
