Pretty remarkable turnover in 2 years, only 9 of the 25 men on the 2017 playoff roster are on the roster for tonight:

PITCHERS
RHP Max Scherzer
RHP Stephen Strasburg
LHP Sean Doolittle

POSITION PLAYERS
3B Anthony Rendon
SS Trea Turner
1B Ryan Zimmerman
INF/OF Howie Kendrick
OF Victor Robles
OF Michael A. Taylor

The most remarkable thing about that is that MAT has made it two more years without contributing anything to the major league team.

Bryce Schmice. He’s gone. I’m not thinking about him or how 2012 ended or any other negative stuff today.

I really like this 2019 team. I’m always a Nats fan, of course, but over the years there are some teams I’ve liked more than others.  I think this year’s team is one of my favorites. They seem like a bunch of good guys who have really gelled over the summer. People scoff at team chemistry, but I think good team chemistry has a real, positive impact.

We’re a long way from the days of Bowden’s reclamation projects and bad actors like Elijah Dukes.

I'll never understand the hatred for Zimm.

VaRK hates (Zimm, Scherzer, Harper) and loves (Roark, Howie) with a passion.

Let's get back on track and put good thoughts towards Rendon and Soto to get out of their funks! The teams October success rides on them.

Do you expect a team manager to express his doubts and the shortcomings of his players in a presser?

(Image removed from quote.)

Well, the Washington State coach Mike Leach did.

I know that you HAVE to win tonight to get to LA Thursday, and I'll take any win we can get, but I really hope Max goes 7 strong and we have a 3 or 4 run lead and just use Doo/Hudson to close it out.  I'd hate to go into the LA series with our best starting pitchers unavailable until later in the series.  I know Anibal Sanchez is going to have to start 1 game no matter what, but hopefully the other 4 starts are Strasburg in 1 and 5, Corbin in 2, and Max in 3 or 4.

It’s just one game. What is he going to do and throw his crappy BP under the bus during the regular season?  One of the reasons that the team didn’t fold was the consistent support of DM.

I'm more concerned with how he manages the pitching staff than what he says. He doesn't have to throw them under the bus. But, everybody knows the bullpen was bad. ESPN says the Nats bullpen had the WORST ERA EVER for a playoff team.

Stras and Corbin are, according to Doo, now familiar with the bullpen facilities.

This was to essentially be a bullpen session for him...

That would be fine. It makes more baseball sense to me considering that Corbin is a lefty, and we need a lefty in the pen. I'd still rather have Max go deep and not have to worry about using other starters. we'll see

Gametime is approaching.  Take Brewers-Nats comments to the GDT.
