I'd prefer a 2 run lead with a man on first (having been walked, let's say) than a 1 run lead and nobody on base (all assuming no outs).

Me too, but Harper's batting .258.  Hernandez was on deck hitting .281    Either way, Strickland needs to get an out.

Working on his golf swing.

Had to change his tee time next Wednesday morning...won't be back in DC until late on Tuesday...

Way too logical for this board. 8)

And taking it to a to its logical conclusion, I'd also prefer being up 2 with my opponent having the bases loaded, to being down 1 with the bases empty.

MASN passing up paid commercials? You’d think they want every cent they can get to pay the Lerners. Damn...

Somebody convince me it's a good idea to have Hudson pitch again today.

Well....   You're assuming Bryce was automatic to hit a homer if he was pitched to.  Walking him is 100% to get one of the two runs needed on base.  Pitching to him is 30-40% at best.

9th inning, there'd be no argument for walking him.  8th or 7th, then it could go either way.

I'm more worried about the long term consequences than how good he is in this game though.

He's a free agent at the end of this season.
