Oh hey, at least we got to watch Andrew Miller :)

Guy's a complete professional and the only thing you're interested in is his looks. ;)

Whatever mojo this team had going is all but gone. It's too bad it had to happen once they started playing good teams Zimm returned  But I get the sense that they too see the writing on the wall.

that's actually happened before. I forget which year it was but they were in 1st place and then Zimmerman, Span and one other player (Murphy?) returned from the DL and the team went to crap. I'm not blaming those players but something happened.

They're defeated and know it. Marlins will take 2 of 3 from us and that'll be it. Goal is now for us to simply finish ahead of the Phillies so Mark Lerner can put up a banner that says "finished higher than Bryce Harper in 2019"

I know we joke a lot about the Nats but I still think they're gonna pull it off.     I may have 3 games next week.    :)

Mark Lerner when his accountant shows him that the team once again went over the luxury tax AND missed the postseason.

That Kingman fly ball was a killer.     It would be great to have the Indians' series clinch a spot.

If they make the postseason, Max should not start the Wild Card Game.  But, we know that he will...Standard Decision...

Corbin might be our best pitcher right now.

4-1 L

nah, if we get to the bullpen it will go something like this:

Max 6.2 1 ER
Suero 0.1 4 ER
Rainey 0.0 3 ER
Strickland 0.2 1 ER
Doolittle 0.1 1 ER
Hudson 1.0 0 ER

Nats lose 10-7 after taking a 7-1 lead into the 6th.

Of course Gomes would strike out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

If they don't feast on the Fish (at least 2/3) then it will be very hard to get it done.

Lol, when I looked at the ERA of the Cardinals’ pitcher today I knew the outcome.

Zuckerman notes that the Nats broke out all their playoff "greatest hits" today:

Quote
There was, in no particular order ...

* A routine fly ball lost in the sun.

* A Nationals runner thrown out at the plate by 20 feet.

* A perfectly manufactured run by the home team while the visitors squandered countless scoring opportunities.

* Clutch hits from a little-known Cardinals utility man.

* Brilliant defense from St. Louis, spoiling a last-ditch rally attempt by the Nats.

* A former Nats bust delivering a killer, pinch-hit home run off his onetime batterymate.
